MISSION STATEMENT: The Archives of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill has as its mission the documentation of the history and charism of the congregation in relation to:

  • Founders and Patrons

  • Membership

  • Community Life

  • Governance/Administration

  • Temporalities

  • Apostolic Ministries

  • Education

  • Religious Education

  • Evangelization

  • Health Care

  • Social Service

  • Pastoral Ministry

  • Diversified Ministries

By appropriate preservation of the records of the Congregation, the Archives also contributes to:

  • the history of the Church in the United States, especially in those dioceses in which the Sisters of Charity serve or have served

  • the history of women religious in the United States

  • the history of the Church in other countries where the Sisters of Charity serve or have served (Korea, China, Israel, et al.)

  • local history in the State of Pennsylvania, where the mother house of the Congregation is located, and in other places where Sisters of Charity reside and serve
